This is another big year for Centrafuse at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Centrafuse, an automotive infotainment user interface toolkit, was featured in several installations throughout the CES show last week; most notably with Intel, where Centrafuse is featured in the eco-friendly WiMax 4G SmartCar, seen in the photos below.
Intel featured the Centrafuse 2.0 interface, showcasing WiMax’s ability to deliver rich media content, such as streaming video & news, to the vehicle. Intel is showcasing several areas of car computing applications including some new CarPC hardware reference designs based their new low-power Atom processor.
Car infotainment & tech blog Mp3Car.com's founder, Rob Wray, spoke with Eric Breier, CEO and Co-Founder of Centrafuse, in the Intel 4G SmartCar. Breier discusses other installations and hardware partners featuring the Centrafuse interface at CES this year, including Azentek's new 2-DIN & 1-DIN Atlas CarPC's, Dashboard Devices' proprietary dual-zone system for rear-seat entertainment, Telemetria's brand new DashTop™ platform, Gracenote and of course, Intel.
Breier also explores next-generation mobile technologies such as WiMax, the general availability of mobile broadband in the car and the impact of these technologies on the car computing market as a whole.
